Free IT recycling collection in London

There is no charge to have business IT collected anywhere inside the M25, and no minimum quantity.

A single retired laptop is collected on the same terms as a two-hundred-desk clearance. We would rather take four machines now and be the people you call when the refresh happens than quote you out of a small job.

What we ask for is a postcode, a rough count and a window that suits the building. Most London collections are booked within forty-eight hours of the enquiry, and we work around the access constraints that make London different from everywhere else we collect — goods lifts, loading bays with a thirty-minute limit, building management sign-in, and the two-hour window you were given by facilities.

What we take

  • Laptops, desktops, workstations, all-in-ones and thin clients
  • Monitors, docks, keyboards, mice and peripherals
  • Servers, rack equipment, switches, routers, firewalls and UPS units
  • Hard drives, SSDs, tape, NAS and external storage
  • Phones, tablets, printers and multifunction devices
  • Cabling, patch panels and comms room fit-out

If it has a plug and it lived in an office, we will take it. Equipment that cannot be reused is dismantled for material recovery under our Environment Agency waste carrier licence. Nothing goes to landfill.

Collecting in London is not like collecting anywhere else

Most of the friction in a London collection has nothing to do with the equipment.

ULEZ and the Congestion Charge

Our vehicles are compliant and the charges are ours, not yours. They never appear on a quote because there is no quote.

Loading bays and time limits

Tell us the bay restriction and we plan the crew around it. A thirty-minute window on Bishopsgate needs two people and a plan, not one van and optimism.

Goods lifts and booking

Most City and Canary Wharf buildings need the lift booked and the crew pre-registered. Give us the building manager's details and we arrange it.

Out of hours

Evenings and weekends where the building insists or the floor is live. No surcharge for a Saturday in the City.

What happens to the data

This is the part that matters, and it is the reason most people are reading this page rather than calling a general waste firm.

Erased to NIST 800-88, or destroyed

Every data-bearing device is erased to NIST 800-88 Purge standard. Drives that fail erasure — and some always do — are physically destroyed instead. You choose which route you want before we collect, and the default is erasure with destruction as the fallback.

A certificate for every device, by serial

You receive a certificate listing make, model and serial number for each machine, with the sanitisation method applied and the date. Not one certificate for the collection: one line per device. That is what an auditor, an insurer or your ICO registration will ask for, and a single-page "we destroyed your stuff" letter does not satisfy it.

Chain of custody from your door

A manifest is signed at your premises before anything leaves the building. The asset register you receive afterwards reconciles line by line to that manifest, so the count that left your floor is the count that was processed.

What you get paid for

Free disposal and a rebate are not alternatives. We grade everything, pay for what has resale value, and take the rest at no cost.

EquipmentTypical outcome
Laptops, four years old or newerRebate paid per unit
Desktops and workstations, i5 and aboveRebate paid per unit
Servers, switches, enterprise storagePriced by component
Monitors, docks, peripheralsCollected free
Printers, phones, cablingCollected free
Failed or pre-2018 equipmentCollected free, WEEE processed

Valuation is itemised per device, never a single lump sum for the pile. You see what each line is worth before anything is sold, and the rebate is paid after testing, not promised against it.

How a London collection runs

  1. You tell us what you havePostcode, rough count, and any building constraints. Two minutes on the form or a phone call.
  2. We confirm a slotSame working day. For anything over about fifty units we will usually want a quick site survey first, which is free and takes twenty minutes.
  3. We collectOur own crew and vehicles, no subcontracted couriers. A manifest is signed before anything leaves your floor.
  4. Erasure and gradingEvery drive sanitised to NIST 800-88, every device tested and graded.
  5. Paperwork and paymentCertificates, asset register and WEEE transfer note, usually within five working days. Any rebate is paid at the same time.

Common questions

Is collection really free?

Yes, for business IT anywhere in London. There is no collection charge, no minimum quantity and no fuel or congestion surcharge. Where equipment has resale value we pay you for it on top.

How quickly can you collect?

We respond the same working day and most London collections are booked within forty-eight hours. If you are working to a lease end or handover date, say so on the form and we will work backwards from it.

Do you have a minimum quantity?

No. A single business laptop is collected on the same terms as a whole floor.

What proof do I get that the data was destroyed?

A certificate per device listing make, model, serial number, sanitisation method and date, reconciled to the manifest signed when the equipment left your building. Plus a WEEE transfer note for your compliance file.

Can you collect out of hours?

Yes. Evenings and weekends at no extra cost where the building requires it or the floor is still in use.

Do you take equipment that still has data on it?

That is the normal case and it is what the process is built for. You do not need to wipe anything before we arrive — in fact we would rather you did not, because our erasure is logged and certified and yours would not be.

What about equipment that is broken?

Collected free and processed for material recovery. Failed drives are physically destroyed rather than erased, and that is recorded on the certificate.

Are you actually a London company?
